Hello, I'm Rob Zwally. Welcome to my shop...

My place is somewhat different from a typical music store. While I do some selling of instruments and accessories, my real specialty is fretted instrument repair. With over 40 years of full-time experience in the stringed instrument repair business and thousands of satisfied customers, I have developed a reputation for providing musicians with a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. My main focus is doing very accurate work on acoustic and electric guitars, electric and acoustic bass guitars, and other fretted instruments such as banjos and mandolins.

My work is factory-authorized by Martin, Gibson, Guild, Fender, Taylor, Ovation, Epiphone and Takamine. Check out my links page for information on contacting them, if you'd like.

I am a member of the Guild of American Luthiers, the Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans, and the Fretted Instrument Guild of America. As a former professional multi-instrumentalist, I play and understand all the instruments I work on.

To insure your complete satisfaction and attention to every detail, all business (even sales) is done by appointment only. Please call or email me in advance. This will set up a private meeting with me in my comfortable office setting, just like your stringed instrument doctor (get it? stringdoc.com), to make sure that every aspect of your repair problem gets dealt with accurately and correctly. Or we can sit down together, try out instruments, and discuss potential purchases in detail. Also, this way I’m not interrupted at my workbench in the middle of performing a touchy repair procedure.
